- School-Level PBIS Coaches Modules
School-wide implementation of PBIS is an ongoing and dynamic process that relies on the actions of the PBIS team. The School PBIS Coach is an integral part of this team to ensure that the design and implementation of PBIS strategies across the school are done with fidelity.
This seven-part new coaches orientation provides school-level PBIS Coaches with the knowledge, resources, and tools to be the content expert and schoolwide champion for PBIS. The role of the PBIS Coach is defined along with detailed explanations of the types, functions, expectations, and guidelines of coaching. Furthermore, coaches will learn how to problem solve roadblocks in coaching, lead an effective team, identify resources, use evaluation tools, develop a plan and much more.
- PBIS Core Coaching Competencies
The Metro RESA School Climate Team has developed a self-assessment to help those who provide regional, district, or school level coaching support in identifying current strengths and professional development areas around core coaching competencies. The assessment covers coaching competencies in three areas: 1) Technical Knowledge, 2) Interpersonal Skills and 3) Effective Implementation Practices based on the core features of PBIS. To learn more about the coaching process and how to use the coaching tool, please listen to the recording(s) with the corresponding supplemental materials. Please note, there are two versions of the tool, each designed for particular PBIS roles.
- Data-Based Decision-Making
The Tier I Problem Solving Training assists School PBIS Leadership Teams with the understanding and execution of the problem-solving process, to make PBIS implementation decisions based on data. This workshop teaches school PBIS teams how to analyze reports, and work as a team to complete the problem-solving process that incorporates multiple perspectives and generates complete solutions. This problem-solving process includes: 1) Data review, 2) Problem identification, 3) Analyze the problem, 4) Identify solutions and 5) Plan evaluation. Throughout the training, teams will practice, explore, and utilize their own school data to ensure application.
This training can be facilitated in a one-day session with select members from each school’s PBIS leadership team or chunked over time to meet varying schedules.
